After 16 years, it's time for phase two of the JD Boson Courts. Funds are being raised to build 4 pickleball courts. In addition, a much-needed restroom will be constructed and the eight tennis courts will be repaired and resurfaced.

Initially established in 2007 as a Project Specific Fund, it became a Donor Advised Fund in 2009 to support the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Program with Marshfield High School. Its goal is to support the MHS ACE program in keeping its tools & equipment safe and up to date in the constantly evolving world of construction.

The ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) scholarship was created to reward Marshfield High School Capstone Construction students. The goal is to provide students with quality tools giving them a step up as they begin their careers or to be well-equipped hobbyists.

This scholarship fund was created in memory of Adam D. Steiner. Adam's true passion surfaced after beginning his career in agricultural technology and robotic dairy farming equipment. His family created this scholarship in Adam's memory to support an educational path for students wanting to advance in the agricultural field. Adam had great respect for the family farm and special consideration will be given to those individuals who grew up on a working farm. He left us far too soon, but we are hoping his legacy will live on for many generations.

Beverly and Marvin graduated from MHS in 1960 & 1957 respectfully. Their experience with their teacher, Adolph A. Vorba, was so memorable that they have created a memorial scholarship in his honor. Marvin went on to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics and taught at the University of Miami for over 55 years.

Established by Alec Salamonski’s parents as a memorial to their son who was killed by a distracted driver in November of 2006. Alec was active in Skills USA, Youth Apprenticeship, Computer Sciences, and a 2005 graduate of Marshfield H.S. Alec was employed as a computer technician. As a high school senior, he represented WI at the National Skills USA Competition in Kansas City in Computer Maintenance. He had a lighthearted sense of humor and unforgettable smile. Preference will be given to those who participated in these activities and pursuing a computer-related field.

She later obtained her Masters degree in education from the U.W. Stevens Point. Employed by the Marshfield School System from 1976 until her retirement in 2008. During her years in Marshfield she taught at Marshfield Junior High from 1976 until 1994, and then at Marshfield Senior High from 1994 until 2007.

The goal of the Community Garden Program is to make it easy to grow your own healthy fruits and veggies. We provide Organic growing techniques using square foot gardening, water, compost and mulch to community gardeners in 75 raised beds at three sites around our community. First Presbyterian Church on Lincoln/Adler, Good Shepherd on McMillan and Church of Christ on Felker. Master Gardeners offer problem solving advice and gardening tips throughout the season.

Dan had a passion for photography/videography. He did work in media directing and producing. He won awards through the Wisconsin Community Media Board for his work taping Marshfield Tigers Football.

Established by the Storms who had long careers in the medical field. They see this scholarship as a way to give back & help students pursuing medical careers. This scholarship was established by Marilyn Workinger to honor her aunt and uncle who owned a farm implement dealership in Neilsville.

Memorial scholarship established by the family of Deidre Week. Must have a GPA of 3.2, participated in extra-curricular activities and be going to a technical school or pursuing criminal justice.

This scholarship was created in memory of Dennis Bangart. He had a pure passion for agriculture and poured his heart into volunteering to observe the next generation create similar passions - he felt that,"you just need to plant the seed and youth would grow". Dennis had an undeniable passion for dairy cattle and agriculture. He wore his heart on his sleeve during activities. He enjoyed selling starter project calves to area youth so he could watch them thrive and grow and have the same opportunities he had while growing up.

Providing grants to the University Center Foundation for the benefit of the UWSP-Marshfield Campus Community Players. Ms Lanterman had a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry. She worked as a research chemist from 1951-1982.

The purpose of the RentReady program is to support those in long-term recovery from substance use with securing their own housing lease with a local landlord. Participants receive budget education, create a rental history, are connected to peer support (recovery coach and/or peer specialist), and the program covers the security deposit and first month’s rent. Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc. (FHC) oversees the program in collaboration with numerous community partners.

Established by Pat Allen as a memorial to her husband, Bill, who was a very active community volunteer who loved music.This scholarship prefers to support students pursuing music, business, finance, marketing, healthcare or a medically related field and have financial need.

This scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years.

The Friends of Jurustic Park project specific fund has been created to support the efforts of keeping Jurustic Park in the Marshfield Area. The Wynia's will work with the Friends of Jurustic Park over time to ensure the statues will have a permanent place in Marshfield.

Gary was a graduate of Marshfield High School and an avid three sport athlete. A scholarship has been developed in memory of Gary for his love of athletics. This scholarship is designed to assist Marshfield students in attending sports camps either in Marshfield or outside of Marshfield.

Greg Rindfleisch, with considerable support from his wife Sally, established a thriving university and community theater program in Marshfield. Friends, colleagues, and admirers of Mr. and Mrs. Rindfleisch wanted to honor their important contribution to the community by naming this fund after them.

The MACCI Leadership Marshfield class of 2025 team of Lindsey Safford ( Forward Bank), Abby Meyer (Staab Construction), Bill Thomas (PreventionGenetics), and Connie Michalski (First State Bank) know Griese Park Playground is beloved community gathering place, but recognize the need for a safer, updated playground. The team has dreamed up a vision for a new playground promoting overall health, wellness, and inclusion for all ages and abilities. Together, with support from local businesses, individuals, and non-profits, a new playground will be built. Griese Park Playground will continue on as a local asset, a regional destination, and a new community favorite. The Griese Park playground, constructed initially in 2000, is nearing the end of its expected lifespan for wooden playgrounds, (10-15 years). We thank the many local businesses and the leadership team that established the initial playground 24 years ago.

Jean's interest in art started in Marshfield during grade school and blossomed her junior and senior years of high school. Jean majored in art at the U.W.-Madison. This scholarship is given in the spirit of Jean's passion for doing art. MHS class of 1953.

Jerry was valedictorian of the MHS class of 1953. He had a passion for teaching chemistry which he did for 37 yrs at Winona State. Jerry said, "Enjoy it. Have fun with it. Established in Jerry Witt's will, this scholarship is for students pursuing natural science careers such as chemistry, physics, forestry, geology, zoology, biochemistry, microbiology, astronomy, or biology. This fund was created by combining the Laura Kagel, Glenn & Dorothy Franson, and Donovan Kramer scholarships to provide two larger scholarships to Pittsville students. A Pittsville H.S. student pursuing a degree in the medical, science, engineering, or education field will be considered for this scholarship. The student will have been active in their high school and community.

Keep Kids Warm is a fund overseen by the Marshfield Area Community Foundation and greatly supported by the Marshfield area. An annual event, Keep Kids Warm, provides new coats, hats, and mittens to area school age children in need of winter clothing.

This fund was created by Ken & Norma Zittleman to encourage Marshfield public school teachers to continue their education in teaching. Ken & Norma were lifetime teachers and taught in the Marshfield Public Schools for 29 years. Ken stated, "People say to set goals but really you don't have that much control. Work hard. Be ready for what comes your way. Prepare yourself to be the best person you can be so when the opportunities arise you are ready".

Established by the family of Kim Shupe as a memorial. Kim died way too young in a hiking accident in Alaska. Kim was a graduate of Marshfield High School where she excelled in softball. She was working with at-risk youth for Alaska Children's Services at the time of her death.

Established by the Lil' Bull Snowmobilers Club for a graduating Pittsville H.S. senior pursuing a degree in higher education. The successful applicant will have a GPA of 2.5 or above & demonstrated volunteer activities or service. Preference to current members of the club or directly related to a member of the club OR interested in outdoor winter activities.

This scholarship was established as a bequest in Mr. Crossman's will. This scholarship for students going on to college is for students who are graduating from Marshfield, Spencer, Stratford or Auburndale schools and have participated in National Honor Society.

This scholarship established by Louis and Betty Ptacek for a student at Marquette University. Recipient should be a Marshfield area resident, residing within a 15-mile radius of the city of Marshfield; scheduled to be enrolled as an undergraduate on a full-time basis at Marquette University; G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher; definite financial need as determined by the financial aid office of Marquette University. The scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years.

This scholarship was created as a memorial for Lucy Vanatta. Lucy was born on January 29, 2007 and passed away in April 2024. She was an active member of the National Honors Society and the Forensics club. She was on the yearbook committee and Family, Career & Community Leaders of America. She was also an athlete on the Softball and Volleyball team. She additionally served as the president of the Future Business Leaders of America local chapter. Lucy loved deeply, whether it was her friends, family, or her boyfriend Nate. She was the one who’d start dancing anywhere and was always up for anything, and the one you wanted around to make any situation better.

Created by the MacKinnon family in honor of Dr. MacKinnon who was a pioneer physician in Prentice, WI. This scholarship rotates each year from a student at MHS and a student at Prentice H.S.. Financial need will be considered. This scholarship will be awarded to students who are involved in extracurricular activities within the school and active in service to the community.

Marc & Undine were not afraid to lend a hand to someone in need. The hope is this scholarship will continue to keep their spirit of helping others alive. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students pursuing a career in health care or social work. Marc was a social worker with Unified services.

This fund was established to honor Marilyn Hardacre upon her retirement from MACCI. Scholarships for Columbus and MHS are intended for someone pursuing a degree in political science or public administration and, for MHS students, involved in the school to work program.
A small portion of this fund also provides scholarships for the MACCI Leadership Marshfield program.

The goals of the Marshfield Cultural Fair are to increase awareness and understanding of, and pride in, the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community, to create an atmosphere of neighborly celebration, and to educate the community about the international/ethnic/cultural connections of its individuals, businesses and organizations.

This MAPS fund was developed to give the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter an annual disbursement to help cover costs of running the shelter.

The Marshfield Area Pet Shelter Endowment fund was established to create a lasting endowment which can grow over time to ensure MAPS will be supported.

The Marshfield Area Pickleball Community has set a community fundraising goal of $300,000 to provide 12-outdoor court pickleball complex at Braem Park. It is our vision to put the Marshfield area on the “Wisconsin Best” Pickleball map, by providing space for 2-day tournaments, youth and adults camps, and even large events like Badger State Games. Pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in the US and has been seen in the Marshfield Area too with over 500 occasional, regular, and visiting picklers, and growing! A sport for all ages and skill levels, it bridges the generation gap. Pickleball is a highly social sport, which fosters a sense of community, while providing players with numerous health benefits.

A project specific fund, the Marshfield Dog Park Fund benefits efforts to construct and maintain a dog park in Marshfield, which is overseen by the organization “Friends of the Marshfield Dog Park”.

Established by Frances Bohon, to support educational efforts of the School District of Marshfield.

Initially established with the Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation as the Marshfield History Project, the original fund made possible the publication of the Marshfield History Book. It was transferred to the Marshfield Area Community Foundation in 1997 and now supports Community Grants and the Foundation’s operating expenses.

Edward Heller was the former editor of the Marshfield News-Herald and a Lion's Club member. This scholarship was set up as a memorial to him. This was created for a junior or senior in college pursuing a major in journalism or communication. Preference given to a junior/senior or grad student but open to freshman or sophomore as well. Special consideration will be given to graduate students.

Marshfield Monarchs is a couple who, not only rescues, raises and releases thousands of monarchs each year, they also teach classes and interacts with the community and encourages others to follow along. In working with the city, the couple also grows and maintains several large pollinator habitats and wishes to continue to build more. Since 2017 Marshfield Monarchs has raised and released over 14,000 monarchs.

The Marshfield Outdoor Aquatic Center Committee's goal is to provide a state-of-the-art public, outdoor aquatic center that enhances health, fitness, water safety, and recreational opportunities in Marshfield.

Supports an outdoor learning environment at Marshfield High School which fosters experiential learning opportunities

This fund has been created so support the efforts of the Marshfield Refugee Resettlement Teams preparing to assist people moving to Marshfield as part of the Refugee Resettlement program. Funds will support housing, utilities, health care, and travel as well as other costs which may arise .

This fund began to build a complex of community tennis courts and support on-going costs of the tennis complex.

Both graduated with an undergraduate degree at UW Eau Claire. Coming from a small town, they realize the importance of hard work and education.

This fund was created to honor staff at Marshfield High School including David Wagner & Troy Schmitt. The scholarship is intended for a student who has actively participate in NHS, AP courses, or student council and perhaps overcome an adversity.

This scholarship is for people needing financial assistance to complete flight school. Mick was a flight instructor at Marshfield Municipal Airport and loved sharing his passion for flying.

The mission of the Mill Creek Youth Foundation is to provide our community with a much needed multi-use complex that offers a safe, positive and high quality sports experience. This complex, along with the programs offered there, will help develop our youth to their full potential, mentally, physically and socially, in a safe and secure environment. Along with the sports activities, this complex will offer adult and family programming as well.

Established by Marsh-21 to enhance the youth ballparks adjacent to Hackman Field.

Established through an estate of Milton Krom for Owen-Withee High School students with a preference given to students pursuing a degree in pharmacy. The student must participate in extracurricular activities, have financial need, scholastic ability and achievements.

Randy came from a family farm background. He was the oldest child of four and was the first to attend and graduate college. Education was important to him and he was very proud that his girls followed after him. Randy also believed in giving back to the community. Marion High School was his alma mater and his children were raised in the Marshfield area so this fund is giving students in the Marion area a chance to further their education as well promoting Marshfield by funding the scholarship through the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

Ray and Beryl Johnson Memorial Scholarship is for a senior attending Pittsville High School who has a cumulative grade point of 3.0 or better and is embarking on a career that involves working with children. It is not limited to education careers.

The Saint Josephs Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship was started when the Partners with Saint Josephs Hospital dissolved. This group's mission was to support the mission of Saint Josephs Hospital and the community it served through volunteerism, financial assistance, and educational programs. This group used some of these funds to start a scholarship which will benefit a current staff member of the Marshfield Clinic Health System (Marshfield Center) who would like to continue their education in the medical field and continue working for the Marshfield Clinic Healthcare system.

Sarah Grace and Emma Louise Anderson saw their first dance performance at the Mother’s Day Art Fair in 1992. They instantly fell in love with dance and asked their parents to sign them up. This scholarship was established in their memory by family, friends, and the community. The primary focus of this scholarship is to sponsor students attending dance camps or programs out-of-town as these programs are rich in new dance experiences but are typically costly and more intensive. The Marshfield School Based Mental Health Consortium’s vision is to provide mental health services at school for students who may have barriers to care. School district Student Services Teams help assess needs and work with parents to refer students to the consortium for mental health therapy. The consortium coordinates services and works closely with therapists to best serve students. The Mental Health Consortium Sponsorship provides funds to pay for therapy services when finances are a barrier to obtaining treatment.

This scholarship was created as a memorial for Sophia Smrz. Sophia was 17 years old and had just begun her senior year at Marshfield High School when she lost her life in a tragic car accident. She had a great sense of humor, worked as a lifeguard, and was passionate about many things, including her faith, swimming, and playing electric guitar. The successful applicant must be a graduating senior from the community foundation service area with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, enrolling in a college or university within the medical profession, who best meets these criteria: participation in swimming sports or working as a lifeguard or member of Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA) or National Honor Society (NHS).

Staab Construction is an environmental contractor specializing in water and waste water treatment facilities. Staab Construction is a huge advocate of keeping students involved in construction and the construction trades. Staab hopes that this scholarship will help students pursue their dreams of working in construction for a lifetime of fulfilling work.

The Woodlands Preservation Fund exists to maintain the forest adjacent to the University of Stevens Point, Marshfield, known as the Arboretum. For nearly three decades, the arboretum has been protected by the University of Wisconsin and serves as both an educational and recreational resource for students and the broader Marshfield community. A scenic walking path winds through the forest, featuring interpretive stations about the forest ecosystem along the way. Trail options include a gravel path mixed with single-track segments.
